Head of Marketing; Green Coffee Sales
Chelsey is a Seattle-area native, although she has bounced around to Tennessee, California, and Oregon. While earning her bachelor’s degree in Cinema Studies from the University of Washington, Chelsey took a temporary job at the flagship Peet’s Coffee & Tea, where she developed her love for coffee and eventually abandoned her film production plans for a specialty coffee life.
After nine years with Peet’s as a Store Manager and Training Manager, Chelsey spent a year traveling in Asia and Europe, eventually exploring coffee-producing regions in Honduras and Panama. In 2012, she started Seattle’s Slate Coffee Roasters with her mother and brother, building the company and opening a mobile Airstream coffee bar, two pop-ups, and three retail locations as the Director of Retail. During that time, she made a million pour-overs and heard countless tales from guests at the bar, parlaying that experience and her love for coffee into US Brewers Cup success, taking 2nd in the US 2017 Coffee Championships and 6th for Atlas in 2019. Since that time, she’s served an instructor and US Coffee Champs coach for numerous competitors, including many Glitter Cats.
In Green Coffee Sales at Atlas, Chelsey uses her experience connecting guests with the perfect cup of coffee to connect roasters with the crop.
In her spare time, Chelsey spends time with her community, enjoys nature in the Pacific Northwest, and plays with her buddy Rosco, the unofficial Atlas office dog.
