Coffee has been part of my family for generations. My grandfather had a coffee farm, my father continued planting coffee, and eventually I followed the same path. For the past 10 years I have managed my own plot, carrying forward the work and knowledge that was passed down to me.

Coffee farming has changed over the years, especially because of the climate. The 2021 harvest was one of the most difficult for me, but we kept working and moving forward. Last year brought one of my best harvests, producing around 61 60kg bags of green coffee. Coffee is our family’s main source of income, so every harvest represents the livelihood of the six people in my household.

For me, quality begins with the cherry. I work with the same six pickers each season and make sure they understand the importance of harvesting only ripe cherries. Knowing that people in other countries can enjoy the coffee we produce makes me proud and motivates me to continue working in coffee.
