Founded in 1961, the COCATREL coffee cooperative is located in Três Pontas, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and is a leading coffee producer committed to sustainable farming practices. The cooperative has implemented programs that promote environmental sustainability and provides training and technical assistance to its more than 8,000 members on water conservation, soil management, and pest control, ensuring that coffee production is socially responsible and sustainable.

COCATREL is also dedicated to empowering women coffee producers. The cooperative has implemented programs that promote gender equality and provide training and technical assistance to women farmers. Through these programs, women are empowered to take on leadership roles within the cooperative and contribute to the success of their farms. Additionally, COCATREL provides its members with access to credit, marketing, and technical assistance. This support has helped members increase their productivity and profitability, contributing to the sustainable development of the communities where they live and work.

The cooperative has also developed a micro-lot program that allows farmers to separate and sell small lots of exceptional quality. This program has helped farmers earn higher prices, encouraging them to invest in quality and sustainability, all of which improve farmers’ livelihoods in the region.

Our first container of COCATREL happens to be one of the first of the season! With notes of cocoa and walnut, this coffee has a classic origin character and will be a stellar, affordable blender.
